J.CO Donuts Rings up the Philippines on Feb. 16

J.CO Donuts and Coffee will be opening its very first Philippine outlet on Feb. 16, 2012 at the The Strip in Megamall. J.CO is a premium Asian brand that hails from Indonesia, where the first store opened in Jakarta in 2005. The company has over 100 in Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Shanghai and now the Philippines.

I'm A Crumpler Addict

I've been a Crumpler Bag addict ever since I first discovered the brand  during a visit to Singapore in December of 2002. Irene and I were walking around one of the malls there and chanced upon a bag store. There were lots of different brands available but I was immediately drawn to what I would later find out were Crumpler bags. It must have been the pretty colors that drew me to them. It took a few trips back to the store to finally decide on the purchase of my very first one, a red messenger bag (I forgot the quirky name already since I sold it years ago).

Tasting Australia at The Peninsula Manila

Little did I know what I would be in store for when I attended the launch for Tasting Australia at The Peninsula Manila's Old Manila restaurant. Everything looked normal except that I still have fond memories of the old Old Manila decor from eons past. Flower arrangements and decor that was made to look like the Australian flag adorned the tables. Taking a seat and settling down was when I chanced upon the menu announcing the dishes we were having.... crocodile for appetizer, kangaroo for the main course and lemon myrtle for dessert. The Year of the Water Dragon has arrived and to commemorate the occasion, New World Hotel's Jasmine Restaurant Chef Choi Wing Ki has created a menu centered around the Ultimate 18 Treasure Feasts.  The 18 treasure feasts is more commonly known as "Poon Choi or Pun Choi" or big bowl feast, a dish that is greatly associated with New Year celebrations and is one of the truly Hong Kong dishes.
