King One Rotary Hot Pot

Located at the Hobbies of Asia on Macapagal Blvd. is King One Rotary Hot Pot, our favorite hot pot restaurant. It is less crowded compared to its sister restaurant Yakimix although it is still advisable to make a reservation.

Its unique feature compared to other hot pot restaurants is the rotary conveyor belt transporting all the ingredients within your reach. Although you can still order from the checklist, it is infinitely more fun to just get from the conveyor as it passes beside your table.

We always get the Hong Kong Curry Soup, evoking the streetfood stalls of HK . Among the more than 90 ingredients, our favorite are Sliced Lamb, Mozzarella balls, Tau pe (soy bean skin) and Singaporean fish cake. The curry soup matches the lamb and mozzarella balls perfectly. A handy tip is to be careful with the mozzarella balls since the cheese will be very hot coming from the soup, so bite carefully lest your mouth be burned.

This time around we decided to try some new stuff namely fresh scallops and golden mushroom. The scallops were good but I feel it would match other soups better, while the golden mushroom spread apart in the boiling soup.

The prices are very reasonable at P529 for dinner and P479 for lunch per head, with an option of bottomless drinks for P65. Every time we eat here, it is a struggle to order just the right amount of ingredients to be able to walk away from the restaurant without paying the leftover charge of P699.
