Typhoon Shelter Crabs
The star of the lunch was a male crab clocking in at around 1 kilo, cooked the Typhoon Shelter way. Cooked with a copious amount of garlic, with black beans and some chili. Getting the crab pieces will reveal a noodle treasure underneath that is oh so flavorful with all the crab fat and oil from cooking dripping in to the noodles. Mix in the garlic and this dish will drive all the vampires away. We too home the leftover noodles but when we reheated it, the spiciness was kicked up a notch probably because the chilis had time to stew in th
Getting away from the crabs, which is making me hungry again. It was almost one in the afternoon before our food stated coming out so I was so hungry I forgot to take pictures of the first few dishes namely Crispy Baby Squid and Macanese Duck Paella. The crispy baby squid was good but I felt the coating was too sticky and was just topped on the squid after the cooking. It still pales in comparison to the crispy baby squid I had in No Signboard in Singapore. The paella was good in that the rice was not overpowering but it had too little chroizo and duck inside.

Thai Shrimp Cakes
We had started with Thai Shrimp Cakes, you could taste the shrimp inside and the sauce complimented it well but I still like the ones from Jatujak.

Chicken Satay
We also order a pair of satay, Lamb Satay and Chicken Satay. They were a tale of two sauces, 1 good and one bad. The lamb satay was excellent, although a piece or two was a little tougher, the sweet spicy sauce more than made up for it. The chicken satay's peanut sauce was not good at all and we proceeded to eat the dish sans the sauce. The sauce we made at home from premixed bought at the supermarket was much much better. The best peanut sauce I've had so far was from Huat Huat in Singapore, a stall famous for its chicken wings.
Another good thing is you can order from Claw Daddy, a sister restaurant, next door if you're hankering for a more western feel.
