Damosa Duo

Hanoi 0

During my recent trip to Davao, we had lunch at Damosa Gateway. The trip was a smorgasbord of our favorite restaurants from the years we lived in Davao. So we picked Hanoi, our Vietnamese go to place. They actually have two branches, but this one is much nearer to the office.

We usually go to Hanoi for their sweet chili Crabs, but we were not in the mood to get our fingers dirty that day.

Hanoi 1

We proceeded to order our favorites starting with Cha Nuong, ground pork barbecue served with lettuce, basil and rice paper. They serve all the ingredients and let you do the wrapping yourselves. Since we know we do not do this well, we already told them to served it to us wrapped already.

Hanoi 3

I ordered Pho Thai, beef noodle soup, they serve this with lots of bean sprouts, basil and chili. I dumped all the bean sprouts and basil in and squeeze the calamansi into the soup. I liked their Pho much better than the one I had in Pho Hua here.

Hanoi 2

To round out the meal, we ordered an entree, Suon Ram Mam, pork caramel spareribs in hotpot. This dish would have been perfect with plain rice but since we ordered noodles today most of the sauce was left after we finished the ribs.

Ice Giants 3

Coming out from Hanoi, just across the parking lot is Ice Giants, an ice cream parlor from the looks of it. I've seen this a couple of times already and having a not so overflowing lunch gave us a chance to try it out.

Looking at the menu, I was surprised they served more than ice cream. They had a full lineup of dishes from sandwiches to pasta to chicken but half of the menu is devoted to desserts as you can see from the wall.

Irene ordered Halo-Halo, she loves it and orders it everywhere. She said this was not bad but she's had better ones.

Ice Giants 1

I ordered Banana-Langka (jackfruit), two fruits I love and it is rare to see them together in an ice dessert. I love the vanilla ice cream topping creating a nice contrast to the yellow fruits underneath. Whats not to love about my order, it had my fruits, its cold and topped with ice cream.
While eating dessert, we talked about coming back here to try the food, but we were not able to go back.
Maybe on our next trip, we'll be able to sample the food at Ice Giants
