Hearing how great this Pamapanga bake shop's ensaymada was, we definitely had to give them a try. Good thing they accept orders for pick up in Bel Air every Friday afternoon.
Who would have known the simple box adorned with a green bow on the side would hold small treasures inside.
We saved the pastries for the next morning, pastries just goes so well for breakfast.
These ensaymadas are pillowy soft, with a sharp cheese flavor owing to the marka pato queso de bola they use. Copious amounts of sugar and cheese are placed on top of he ensaymada. I'm not a super lover of cheese so when I finished the pastry, there was a lot of leftover cheese that was on the plate but no sign of the sugar. I think these might be the best ensaymadas I've ever tasted.
Ordering is a cinch, just text your order before their cut-off for, pick it up on Friday and then go home and enjoy the pastry. Just be sure to hide your drool when picking them up.
