Knicker Bocker

Tucked away on the side at the entrance of SM Megamall's Foodcourt is Knicker Bocker, a food cart that I've passed by but did not pay any attention to. The cart is a mishmash of colors and it does not really catch your attention. This time I was determined to find out what they are selling. Apparently, it is a dessert that hails from Palmeras Restaurant in Zamboanga.

I asked the seller what are the ingredients of the dessert, he replied that it was fruits, jelly and ice cream. That got my interest piqued since I like all those things and there no hint of anything artificial add on.

We decided to order two16oz cups for P79 each, there is also a smaller 12oz cup for P59. The seller proceeded to make our order. He scooped bite sized watermelon, mangoes and freshly cut bananas into the cup, added one scoop of vanilla ice cream then added jelly and more fruits then topped it off with a scoop of strawberry ice cream. Sweet milk sauce was added on top of the strawberry ice cream. I couldn't wait to taste this since it takes a little while for them to finish assembling this dessert

I really like the taste, it was refreshing, the fruits were fresh and not immersed in syrup.It's a little hard to eat at first since ingredients are filled to the brim of the cup making it hard to mix it up but once you consume a little the rest is a cinch. One little complaint I had is that the fruits were not cold enough, I plan on ordering one next time and ask them to put it into there freezer for a while before I get it. I love my cold desserts very cold.

So if you pass by Megamall, you might want to give this unassuming stall a try.
