We stated off the meal with Roka Salata Solo Size (P330) arugula (roka), romaine, sun dried tomatoes, candied walnuts and parmesan in traditional Greek vinaigrette. Don't let the solo size fool you, this dish is meant to be shared if you are ordering this for a starter. The vegetables were all very fresh and crunchy. The candied walnuts, parmesan cheese shavings and the vinaigrette each brought a different taste the combine wonderfully.
After looking at the menu, we finally settled on Giant Shrimp with Dill and Ouzo(P550) with a siding of Greek roasted potatoes. We did not know what to expect since we had no idea what Ouzo is.
The tomato cream sauce with ouzo and dill was so good, we wished we ordered some rice to mop up all of it. The shrimps were also cooked just right, while the potatoes are full of parmesan cheese goodness. I would order this again the next time we dine at Cyma.
While we were busy with our food, Lauren was also busy with her Saganaki Mozzarella, greek flaming cheese. She gets a kick out of the waiters shouting "OPA" when they light it on fire before serving. She finished this whole appetizer by herself that's why she could barely finish half of her main course, Hirine Brizola, grilled porkchops.
Its so refreshing to think we can still be wowed by a familiar restaurant just by veering off from our comfort zone.
