The place was nicely lit with huge globes of light adorning the ceiling. It was nicely decorated but a little cramped probably because they were maximizing space. I also saw a couple of framed pictures of Cebu landmarks like the Marcelo Fernan Bridge.
We were all quite excited to order since we were all hungry again owing to the late shuttle from Imperial Palace.
I decided to order Crab Relleno(P120)to start, although the pieces were quite small it was full of crab meat and not full of extenders like potatoes that are usually present.
I was not really a fan of Mongo Soup (P105) but since I had my first good experience at Bagoong Club, I was more appreciative of it when G ordered it. The serving was large enough to serve six people. I liked the creaminess of the soup and finished my bowl quickly. I still can't believe I now like mongo soup.
Whats a Filipino meal in Cebu without their famous Baked Scallops (P125), with its copious amount of cheese topping that we had to order 2 more plates. Although the price was more expensive than the one we had at Golden Cowrie, we all agreed Chika-an's version is the superior one.
Other dishes we had were Crispy Pata (P245), this was semi deboned already when it was served. The skin was very crispy and the meat was juicy and flavorful. We actually got this for free courtesy of another Enjoy Card coupon, but I'd actually order it again next time owing to how good it was.
Butter Garlic Shrimp (P190) and Grilled Chorizo De Cebu (P95) rounded out our meal.
We washed it down with a liter of Arnold Palmer, an interesting drink which is a mix of Iced tea and Lemonade. It was quite refreshing and I liked that the tartness of the lemon was balance out by sweet iced tea.
We would definitely eat here again if ever we visit Cebu again in the future. So for all you travelers to Cebu, you might want to consider Chika-an sa Cebu if you are hankering for downright good Filipino food in Cebu.
