Domino's Pizza is back in the Philippines, the favorite pizza delivery company of my school days opened its 2nd of many future branches in Silver City, Frontera Verde. Domino's Pizza Philippines is now under a new master franchisor composed of Mr. Tong Hong, Goldilocks and Mr. Kenny Oh of Domino's Korea. Mr. Hong, has been working in Domino's USA for more than 20 years, starting as a delivery person and rising up the ranks.

The new Domino's Pizza Philippines is very much different from the previous one starting with its inviting stores which now have dine in seating available. The store's color scheme uses red extensively exuding a vibrant, passionate atmosphere.



Attractive and well designed delivery motorbikes has lighted LED signs in the rear to protect delivery personnel.

Margherita Thin Crust Pizza. I was surprised to see a thin crust pizza when the box was opened in front of us. The pizza toppings was very simple, splotches of red tomatoes mixed with the yellowish mozzarella cheese and top with fresh green basil leaves, yet created a welcoming feel. I was quite excited to try this new innovation and after one bite, I'm hooked. The crust was crunchy and flaky at the same time. I found out that there is an additional P30 charge to the price for the thin crust, I would gladly pay this every time.

Extravaganza. A flavor most Domino's Pizza fans of old would probably remember. It had the most number of toppings and was perfect for those barkada get togethers. The classic hand tossed pizza that made Domino's famous the world over.This tasted different that the ones I remember and upon further inquiry, I was told that the recipe they use is the same as the ones used by other Domino's stores the world over. Upon biting the crust I noticed a different texture at the bottom, corn meal was present. They use this to inhibit the sticking of the pizza on the ovens and as a side effect it adds a different yet welcome texture to the crust.

Potato Pizza. A unique variant that is the top seller in Korea, since Korean people love to eat potatoes. This one had the usual cheese and tomato sauce but the unique toppings are corn, mayonnaise and potato wedges. A definite tummy filler and carbo loading variant for those young ones.

I'm really excited that Domino's Pizza Silver City is just a phone call away again. A conundrum arises because of the introduction of the thin crust pizza, we love thin crust pizzas but the hand tossed ones are also mighty inviting. I'm also glad that they are introducing flavors popular in other Asian countries here like the Margherita from Japan and Potato Pizza and Hola Spain from Korea.
