Dining at Figaro Coffee

I always thought Figaro Coffee was like all the coffee shops out there, where most of their food consisted of pastries and some light sandwiches. When I got an invite to sample some of their offerings, I did not expect the amount of food that would be served.

A flurry of dishes that started with Beef Tapa Supreme (P150) and Marinated Boneless Bangus (P150), both served with an 8oz brewed coffee. The tapa had a little too much ligament parts, but the marinade was good. The bangus was just what I expected, though a big plus were the nicely fried eggs.

Chicken Thyme (P215) and Chicken ala King (P215) came out next, both are part of their recently launched Spoon Meal sets which includes a cup of brewed coffee or a glass of iced tea. I liked the chicken thyme because of the yummy cream sauce that I kept coating the nugget like pieces with.

Call me old school but I can't seem to think of it being served outside of a bread container. My peculiarities with food vessels aside, the taste was good especially when I mixed in more of the carrots and corn served on the side.

Berried Watermelon (P125). I especially loved this refreshing drink. I'm a big fan of watermelons especially if they are ice cold from the ref. I'm not too sure what kind of berries they added but I'm quite sure there were strawberries, another of my favorites.

Piccanti Gamberetti (P199). This pasta dish was slightly spicy due to the added chili flakes but that just gave it a nice punch inducing one to eat more.I'd imagine this dish would be quite filling, good enough to satiate a single person although the shrimps were quite small.

Spagnolo Sardine Pizza (P!69). I was surprised that I liked this pizza since I very seldom eat sardines, it must have been the generous amount of cheese. There was a little problem with the topping of the pizzas not staying put on the crust but aside from that hiccup, everything was good.

It seems my initial preconceptions regarding Figaro Coffee were proven wrong, they serves lots of filling and affordable meals to go with their local coffee and drinks. So looking for some good coffee to go along with lunch, look no further than Figaro Coffee.

  2. I love the food in that restaurant, but what I like the most is the coffee they serve. I find it tasty and delicious. It's kind of unique than other coffees I tasted from other restaurants.
