On a trip to Salcedo Market, I chanced upon this new burger purveyor, BOOM Burgers, catching my eye with the burger like logo as well as their charcoal grill.
I browsed their burger list and was instantly drawn to the Chili Con Carne burger (P140).
The 1/3 pound fresh patty was charcoal grilled, though not as fast as conventional griddles, giving it a nice smoky flavor.
I went to browse around other stores before coming back to claim my burger. What greeted me was a nice brown bag reminiscent of days past, making a coming bag due to people's eco consciousness.
The burger was wrapped in translucent wax paper,hinting of the juicy surprise inside.
Opening up the burger, I was greeted by a slightly messy package. I liked the generous amount of poppy and sesame seeds on the bun radiating out like points on a star.
Biting into the burger, the patty was juicy and grilled just right with lots of juices and the flavor one always find with charcoal grilled food. Hidden underneath, seemingly crushed under the patty was the chili, deep flavored beans with only a slight hint of spice. Good burger but a messy to eat.
So heading off to Salcedo Market for a little shopping, do check out Boom Burgers and you just might be surprised with their grilled burgers. They also accept deliveries within Makati, just call 622.8232
