My first taste of Royce chocolates was the Nama Strawberry during a trip to Hong Kong about 4 years ago. I remember reading about how melt in the mouth soft they were but since I'm not really a fan of chocolates as well as not being available locally, I did not put much thought into trying them.
While we were walking around Ocean Terminal, I chanced upon the Royce store and saw a little square pink box. I love strawberry anything and I knew the color pink is a sure sign of strawberry flavored stuff. I asked for a taste and bought a box immediately and brought it to the hotel to enjoy.
Fast forward to the present, the Nama Strawberry is a seasonal flavor in their chocolate line so I was not having luck finding it being offered whenever I pass by the Royce store.
I finally found and was able to buy a box of Nama Strawberry (P580) in the Eastwood Mall branch of Royce. Each box of Nama chocolate is packed in an insulated foil pouch.
Inside the pouch, they place a single piece of reusable ice.
Royce even provides you a little knife/spear to avoid getting your hands dirty while eating the Nama chocolates.
Each little chocolate morsel is so soft it literally melts in my tongue with slight hints of strawberry at the end. There is no super strong strawberry flavoring that assails your taste buds like the one from lower quality chocolates. Keep on eating and you may taste the pits of the strawberry hinting of the use of real strawberries.

First time I also tasted it was during a HK trip years ago. Recently, I was able to try their Fromage/Cheese. I actually liked it. :)
ReplyDeleteTheir strawberry flavor is also one of my favorites. I also like the Champagne one. :)
