URBN Bar and Kitchen has some good food despite being know as one of the better party place sin the country. This time around they decided to introduce a new line of Bar Chow, available from 12MN to 2AM only. Perfect for those looking to fill up their energy from all the partying they’ve done.
Most of the bar chow is designed for sharing, since who’s parties by themselves anyway. The menu retains some items from their regular dining menu as well as add more dishes created by Chef Benjo Tuason. You can much away on their Home-made Potato Chips (P250), served in a nice aluminum bucket, complete with two dip choices (aoili and pesto).
The BlackBenny Fries (P250) should provide you with a little more carbs with a side of protein. This is Chef Benjo’s take on the Canadian poutine, hand cut fries, topped with bacon and slathered with gravy.
If you can’t get enough of Bacon then the Country Fried Bacon (P250) should be a must order. Strips of bacon, fried with well seasoned batter. This is a good deal with the amount of bacon in the basket. Crispy, meaty and oh so addicting.
The Spicy Buffalo Chicken Pops (P350) is perfect for a little meaty pop in the mouth snack.
The All Meat with BBQ Sauce Pizza (P410) and Seafood Pizza (P380) are also good choices.
My favorite dish of the night, by far was the Lamb Hash (P320). Diced gamey lamb meat sauteed with potatoes. I was really looking for a bowl of rice to throw into that plate and just mix it all around. I wish URBN Bar & Kitchen served this during their regular dining hours. I’m just salivating, thinking about that dish again.
The Chocolate Brownie Cheesecake (P250) and Nutella and Candied Hazelnut Cheesecake (P250) are perfect for those looking for a little sugar rush.
The Maple Bacon Cheesecake (P250) is something I can’t explain. Maple sauce drizzled over soft cheesecake then topped with crumbled bacon. Sweet and salty is taken to the extreme here. I’m betting bacon addicts can’t resist ordering this.
White Chocolate and Cookie Butter Love-Ah Cake (P270). A lava cake that veers from the norm by using white chocolate and further amps it up by adding cookie butter.
URBN Bar & Kitchen serves some wonderful bar chow at reasonable prices with lots of interesting choices. Drunked, tipsy or even just buzzed, you’ll see the quality in every dish absent in many other establishments.
My picks are the country fried bacon and the lamb hash, two dishes I wish was available in the regular dinner menu.
