Jamba Juice, the cult juice and smoothie purveyor from California has finally landed in Manila courtesy of the Max’s group of companies, the same people who brought in Krispy Kreme. Their first store is located at Bonifacio High Street Central, across the Fort Strip and R.O.X. This will be the first store in South East Asia, and the 766th store overall with 750 stores in the USA, 1 in Canada, 1 in the Bahamas and 13 in South Korea.
I was able to attend the initial store launch last night at the open area outside the store. It was a hip, hopping affair graced by officers of both Max’s group of companies as well as Jamba Juice USA. All attendees were given a chance to try their famous smoothies from the all fruit and classic lines.
People patiently line up as the smoothie masters worked furiously to blend their orders. You can really see that they don’t put any additives in their smoothies.
Some of their concoctions include either sherbets, non fat yogurt and non fat frozen yogurt. These can be replaced, added on at ones preference as I had done myself on one of the smoothies I tried. Even fruits can be added or remove, in other words, everything is customizable. You can literally make your own special smoothie. I can just imagine the dialogues that might come up when someone orders a special drink.
Not only will Jamba Juice be blending your favorite smoothies, they will be planting Guimaras mango trees to help increase the supply to show the world the world’s best mangoes.
I was able to try 2 variants from the classic line yesterday, Razzmatazz and Banana Berry. The Razzmatazz is more tarty because of the orange sherbet included in it but it looked and tasted wonderful I had that drink exactly as it is, no change and no addition. For the Banana Berry, I replaced the raspberry sherbet with more frozen yogurt, I find raspberry too tart for my taste. You really taste the fruity goodness in each sip for both drinks.
Head on over to Jamba Juice and try out their smoothies this 11.11.11 as well as their fruit and yogurt parfaits, steel-cut oatmeal, breakfast wraps and California flat bread on the side.
Jamba Juice Philippines plans to open up 40 stores in the next 10 years, so you’re sure a branch will eventually pop up near you.
