The Sails Restaurant is the all day dining concept of Movenpick Resort Mactan Island Cebu, located in the ground floor beside the lobby. This is also where the daily buffet breakfast is served, I’ll get to that in another post. We had a late lunch here after our delayed flight from Manila. The menu was simple and concise so it was easy to pick out our choices especially since a lot of us were a bit hungry already.
I forgot who ordered this Srirachi Buttered Prawns (P340) but it was a spicy muncher. Breaded shrimps topped with a zingy sriracha sauce.
Beef Salpicao (P580) is another one of the dishes I always seem to order so it’s no wonder what my choice would be when it popped out of the menu. Beef cubes cooked in oyster sauce, paprika and lots of garlic with a side of garlic rice, so comforting. The beef pieces were on the large side but they were still tender and cooked medium, with a little pinkish hue in the middle.
Laurie ordered a Greek Goddess Pizza (P520) for sharing. It’s basically a seafood pizza with olives and tomatoes. The toppings were generous, shrimps and calamari abound, no slice is neglected.
For dessert we had Movenpick Ice Cream, which is available in all Movenpick properties around the world. I had the Strawberry that meal, tarty and fruity at the same time but my favorite Movenpick Ice cream flavor is the Maple Walnut.
Here are some of the dishes my friends had.
Fish and Chips (P600) served in a cute wicker basket.
Swiss Rosti (P700), a potato pancake with bacon and egg. I was actually debating between ordering this or the salpicao but beef won out.
