Christmas is fast approaching and it means it’s time for Alaska Crema All-Purpose Cream to hold their yearly food festival, Alaska Merry Cremas Festival 2015. On its third year, the event has moved to Trinoma Mall’s indoor activity center. This year’s event gathers over 30 home bakers, chefs and entrepreneurs to showcase their recipes that use Alaska Crema All-Purpose Cream.
The event is free for everyone, they just not to register to be able to participate in the different activities of Alaska Merry Cremas Festival 2015.
A big stage was set up in the middle with different entertainment and activities led by a pair of personalities. They even set up a number of tables and chairs so guests can get a little breather. Contest, cooking demos and live music entertainment gave the crowd more fun stuff to do aside from sampling the different food stalls.
For kids who get tired, there’s an art workshop area where they can release their creativity.
I always associate desserts with Alaska Crema All-Purpose Cream so it was no surprise at the big number of stalls presenting a wide array of them.
The Salted Caramel Pannacotta is easily the most impressive of the dessert booths. Creamy and luscious with bonus caramel popcorn topping. My choice was right as this one took home the trophy for best dessert.
Classic Filipino desserts like maja blanca and a cassava cake topped with an almost leche flan like topping are given a twist.
Choco Caramel Cakes, Cakes in a Jar and hard to resist Yema cakes were all begging to be devoured.
It was the savory creations that really impressed me and reveled how versatile Alaska Cream All-Purpose Cream is.
I was surprised with the Rellenong Bangus that incorporated cream inside the stuffing.
The Baksa is a combination of Laksa and our local batchoy. Creamy and packed with flavor, a great mix of two cultures in one bowl of hot soup.
Rice lovers are also given a plethora of choices like the Creamy Beef Mushroom and Creamy Chicken Hamonado. Both saucy dishes that screams for extra rice.
Baked pasta gets the Alaska Crema touch with the healthier White Chicken Caprese Lasagna while the Baked Penne is topped with a Creamy cheese sauce.
After going around the different booths, you’ll get ideas to incorporate Alaska Crema not only in your favorite desserts but you can also use it in your savory dishes.
