There’s a new stall at The Grid, Rockwell’s curated food hall, called Beefier. Beefier is the big brother of the now shuttered “The Beef” in Hole in the Wall. They’ve expanded the very limited menu with steaks and beef bowls. I’ve had the burgers at The Beef a number of times and always enjoyed it so I had high expectations.
We’ve been to the Grid many times and have always enjoyed our experiences especially at La Chinesca and Bun Appetit but it’s always fun to try a new place.
I got the Cheesier (P290), their version of the cheeseburger. All their burgers have all beef smash patties, tomato and lettuce in between a soft potato bun. I added Bacon (+P90) and fries (P+60). The patty had a nice, enjoyable crust that sealed in all the juices to give a beefier flavor. The bacon strips were cooked perfected, flat and crisp with a smoky flavor. I wouldn’t mind having this burger any time of the week.
Other add on options are Iced Tea (+P60), Iced Tea and Fries (+P99), and extra patty (+P150).
Not a fan of buns then their Gravy Boat Burger Steak (P340) is the choice for you. Lauren got this one which also comes with Koshihikari rice, fries and griddled tomatoes. The burger steak was pretty thick and had an enticing charring which went perfectly with their excellent gravy (Lauren approved). Lauren enjoyed it except for the pieces of onions inside the patty.
I thought the gravy boat was just a fancy name for the burger steak but they do really give you one filled with their special gravy. If you want more gravy, it cost P20 per gravy boat, a pretty good deal.
Beefier has 2 steak options available, Hanger Steak (P650) which come with salad, fries or rice and USDA Prime Rib (P1990/400 grams) served with arugula salad. I’m unsure who would order a P2k steak at a self service food hall though.
Strawberry Roasted Sesame Slush (P120). This is my pick for thirst quencher, a refreshing drink with surprise nuttiness from the roasted sesame. The drink is not for everyone though as Irene and Lauren both didn’t like it because of the sesame.
Irene went with the Lobster roll and Clam Chowder from Bun Appetit, Lauren sneaked in a bite or two and said she likes it also. We had planned on getting Tuna Tostada from La Chinesca but both of us were too full already.
Looking for a place to satiate your burger cravings, Beefier serves one of the best minus the lines and wait time.
