Blue Bell Ice Cream, Now in the Philippines

June 4, 2014 by Richard

The first time I found out about Blue Bell Ice Cream was during the Pinoy Eats World organized Romantic Eats event last February. I was so busy manning the Indulgence by Irene booth that I missed trying it out.

Fast forward to a few weeks ago when I received an email asking when I would be available to receive some Blue Bell ice cream. You guys know that I LOVE ice cream so how could I resist trying some.

Blue Bell Ice Cream comes from Brenham, Texas in the USA and is one of the leading brands there.

I received two pints, one was Homemade Vanilla and the other was Cotton Candy.

The packaging was really nice with the gold foil lid with a little peek a boo window into the flavor contained. The body also aptly represented the flavor it contained like the light yellow for vanilla and the pink and blue splotches for cotton candy.

A quick check on the back show the nutritional information aka how much time you need to work your little indulgence off at the gym. The expiry date is also clearly stated at the bottom of the container.

Lauren, my co conspirator in everything ice cream could not wait for me to take pictures of the Cotton Candy because she wanted to try it already. The colors are basically just visual and does not affect the taste at all whether you get pastel pink or blue in your spoon. There’s a bit of strawberry taste mixed with something else that comes close to capturing cotton candy in ice cream form. The little spoonful was the last I saw of this pint as Lauren appropriated and finished it off.

Lauren also loves Vanilla but the homemade vanilla was not to her liking. I tried it and its a bit on the sweet side.

When I was Texas I buy them every week!! I was really addicted to mint chocolate chip, sea salt caramel and caramel turtle cheesecake. Those flavors are hard to find here in PH though
