Botejyu recently opened their 13th branch at the 3rd level of Greenbelt 3 by adding more items to their extensive menu. They are my go to place for takoyaki and okonomiyaki in Manila, I do lament that they’ve removed the metaiko and potato mochiyaki from the menu.
Special Assorted Sashimi (P425/3 kinds, P695/5 kinds). Looking for fresh sashimi, Botejyu has got you covered with their new sashimi platters.
Pressed Unagi Sushi (P995). The unagi sushi is delicious, thick pieces of unagi, lightly torched then finished off with a drizzle of sauce. The only drawback is the price but you do get what you pay for so this plate is a worthwhile indulgence.
Seattle Roll (P315). Lot of creamy textures in this mix of avocado, cream cheese, lettuce and fresh salmon makizushi roll.
Grilled BBQ Pork Buns (P125). One of our favorites at Botejyu is their BBQ Pork rice bowl and it’s the same pork they use in this soft bao together with lettuce, mayo and special sauce. The bun is very soft but strong enough to hold everything without stuff leaking out.
Pork Tonkotsu Ramen (P425). This bowl of tonkotsu ramen with smoky charsiu was surprisingly good especially from a non ramen specialist. Many Japanese restaurants offer ramen on the menu but most are mediocre since they are added just to have it available. This bowl from Botejyu had excellent char siu and a creamy broth. My only problem is the price, which is at par with the ramen specialist but at least you won’t be disappointed with the flavor and taste.
Prawn Tempura Platter (P205/3pcs, P340/5pcs, P650/10pcs). Everyone loves tempura from children to adults. Botejyu does a more a decent version and is priced very good too.
There’s something for everyone in the family at Botejyu but don’t forget to get their bomb Garlic Rice which comes with bacon and fried egg or you’ll regret it. It goes well with everything or even eaten by itself/
