Boutique Burger Kitchen in BGC

September 19, 2017 by Richard

Boutique Burger Kitchen is the retro inspired burger joint of Chef Carlo Miguel. This is the kind of burger he wanted to serve in Draft but kitchen and menu constraints prevented him from doing it. A step inside the teal hued restaurant chock full of memorabilia will feel like you’ve gone back in time.

They have an easy to understand menu built around different burger combination with sides and dessert. They also have a great lunch menu ranging from P180-280 with double servings of rice.

Fried Pickles (P180). I’ve recently discovered these wondrous things.  BBK makes their own dill pickles so the flavor is distinct from the pre packed one. Cut into discs then coated with breading and deep fried for a nice crunch. They also serve this with their house made ketchup which has a smokier less sweet flavor that gives it extra oomph.

Mozzarella Sticks (P260). Bread and fried mozzarella served with their smoked BBK ketchup.

Chicken Nuggets (P280). Housemade organic chicken nuggets served with honey mustard and BBK ketchup. Not a big fan of these, I felt the texture was a little on the soft side.

The Aussie Burger (P380). My choice is also know as a burger with the lot in Australia and is the burger combination you can find all over the country. The Aussie burger has cheddar cheese, crispy bacon, grilled pineapple, beetroot, grilled onion, fried egg, with your choice of bbq sauce or ketchup. I loved this, patty was cooked perfectly medium so it’s really juicy and the egg coats every thing up although it gets a bit messy to eat. The beetroot, pineapple, and onions might not be the first choice of combinations for a burger but they work well together with my choice of bbq sauce to give the burger a mix of sweet, salty and smoky flavors.

Chicken Burger (P300). Crispy chicken patty with Asian slaw and sriracha aioli plus a surprise piece of chicken skin. The patty is a bigger version of the chicken nuggets so the soft texture we didn’t enjoy carries over. Irene will try the turkey or the fish burger next visit.

The French Flair (P390). This wasn’t my order but it’s very pretty. Their house patty with bacon, Gruyere cheese, dijon mustard, musroom and French fried onions.

Finish off your meal with some of the dessert offerings at BBK. My favorites are the Banana Split (P220) and the Mango Meringue Sundae (P220) both us their small batch homemade ice cream. You can also order just scoops of their homemade ice cream (P90/scoop) available in vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, cookie dough and salted caramel flavors. Other available desserts are Cheesecake (P280), Fudge Brownie (P220) and Affogato (P180).

Boutique Burger Kitchen does burgers very well and it’s my favorite burger restaurant at the moment. The  Aussie burger has enchanted my taste buds with it’s quirky mix of flavors.
