Brotzeit German Bier Bar and Restaurant recently launched their Breadtime line of sandwiches perfect for a quick lunch, takeaway or even light dinner. All their sandwiches feature their chewy house baked pretzel baguette and are assembled upon order. The sandwiches are pretty substantial so 2 orders can be shared among 3 people at least.
Angela (P490). Smoked salmon sandwich with greens and sliced cucumber. Perfect for people looking for a light option.
Beethoven (P450). Pulled pork with onions, gherkins, and Jagermeister bbq sauce.
Dirk (P450). Currywurst footlong with gherkins and red bell pepper.
Helmut (P490). A spicy shrimp sandwich that will have you licking your fingers to have more of the sauce. The shrimps are crisp and the pretzel baguette absorbed the sauce well but was still strong enough to not break apart. My pick for best sandwich that day.
The Hoff (P390). Bacon wrapped sausage stuffed with cheese topped with crispy onions and bbq sauce. One of my favorites, can’t beat sausage, bacon and cheese. FYI, the sausage is also available in their lunch plate and comes with their potato wedges.
Von Trapp (P450). Sausage topped with beans, Gouda cheese, bell pepper and onions. This tasted a bit Mexican to me probably because of the beans but is still an option for those looking for something different.
Achtung Baby (P290). This is the best value item from Brotzeit’s Breadtime menu and you get to play with your food too as a bonus. The DIY sandwich board comes with your choice of sausage, pretzel baguette, sauerkraut, condiments and Brotzeit’s addicting potato wedges.
Liven up your sandwich with a pick from their Ginstronomy station and make your own G&T concoction.
For dessert, I suggest the Schwarzwalder (P190), Brotzeit’s version of black forest cake. A rich flour-less sponge cake with chocolate mousse, a rich cake that has a very familiar chocolate flavor.
