Brotzeit German Bier Bar recently opened their 3rd branch in Shangri-La The Fort. To coincide with the opening their introduced a number of beer infused Chef’s specials.
Ambiance wise, this is the best among their 3 branches, it faces the walkway with views of greenery to give you a sense of calm as you drink and eat your night away. I’m certain sitting al fresco will be very enjoyable once we hit the ber months.
Zwettler Bierfleisch (P780). Lager infused veal ragout with napkin dumplings and red cabbage. This is one dish you’d be looking for rice or pasta to sop up the lip smacking good sauce. The veal pieces are supple and full of flavor.
Geroestete Leber (P450). Roasted liver with dunkel weissbier reduction and served with parsley potatoes. Liver is something I don’t enjoy very much so I just took a little taste of the rich sauce.
Seebarsch mit Weissbier Hollandaise (P980). Pan seared sea bass with a weissbier hollandaise sauce served with potatoes and asparagus. Cooked very well, this is a dish for your companions looking for something lighter. The beer imparts a tinge of range to the sauce to make it memorable.
Schweinsbraten mit warmen Krautsalat (P480). Slow roasted pork in dark beer sauce with napkin dumplings and bacon-cabbage salad. This is a dish a lot will find easy to enjoy, it’s pork with a strong flavored sauce. The napkin dumplings are a good side to dip into the sauce while you can’t find fault with a salad that contains bacon.
Apfelringe im Biertieg (P290). Beer battered apple rings dusted with cinnamon sugar and served with cherry compote and vanilla ice cream. I’m not a great fan of apples but when battered and fried and dusted with sugar, sign me up. The use Granny smith apples so the sweet flavors of the toppings is balanced out.
If these beer infused dishes do not catch your fancy then you can feast on their best selling sausages and other dishes plus their fresh beer on tap.
