Bono Artisanal Gelato Butterbeer 01

Rea of Bono Artisanal Gelato asked us to try out their newest magical creation, the Butterbeer. This is obviously inspired by Harry Potter and conjures up some magical fantasies. I honestly did not know what to expect with a butterbeer gelato, I’ve tried drinks inspired by it but have not really loved them.

Bono Artisanal Gelato Butterbeer

The butterbeer gelato is served in the signature Bono cup together with a colorful spoon and a piece of their delicious waffle cookie. At first glance it looked a bit plain, off white color but the proof is in the eating. Taking a spoonful of the Butterbeer gelato, I first taste the butterscotch gelato then was surprised with the caramelized pieces of pretzels which add a nice crunch and sweetness and finally a finish of San Miguel pale pilsen.

Bono Artisanal Gelato The Spoild Mummy Sundae

I tried the Spoiled Mommy sundae also, which is Fresh California strawberry gelato covered with a chocolate shell and topped with home made sprinkles. This is too complicated for me but should be a hit with the kids who will love the sprinkles and the hard shell.

Bono Artisanal Gelato Bananas Foster

The last flavor I tried was the Bananas Foster just because it’s so hard to find banana ice cream/gelato. I found this a bit too sweet for me because of the caramel swirls. Maybe they’ll do a plain banana gelato in the future (hint, hint).
