We visit Shangril Plaza Mall virtually every Friday, so I’ve seen La Creperie numerous times, a bastion of warmth amid the stiff retail landscape. Its white and yellow motif beckoning to the weary shoppers to sit down and relax their weary feet.It finally took a coupon being offered that I finally got a taste of La Creperie, and procrastination still reared its ugly head as we redeemed it a day before the expiry.
We got there around lunch time and decided to order one savory crepe and a couple of dessert crepes. Irene and I decided on Le J.J. (P245), which had ham, Gruyere cheese, tomato, garlic and chili flakes inside. It also came with a bit of side salad, a little different from the ones served in Cafe Breton.
The crepe was good and tasty but this only served to whet our appetites for the dessert crepes to come, what I believe crepes are really meant for.
When in doubt, I always seem to be drawn to strawberries hence my order of La Christine (P155), filled with home made strawberry jam, and topped with fresh strawberries and cream.
The jam filling was very good, chucky yet not too sweet.
While my order was very good, it paled in comparison to Irene’s order, the Salidou (P145), looked deceptively simple since its just made up of salted butter caramel and whipped creme on top. The first bite blew both of us away, chewy dough mixed with the tantalizing salted butter caramel and we knew we were hooked.
We’ve actually been back a couple of times to eat the Salidou, each of us quietly devouring our order and then leave after. (of course we paid first)
There’s a couple of branches of La Creperie already but this is nearest us, tempting us every week. Try the place out and you might just be hooked like us.
