Casa Italia is a new cafe concept from Singapore that serve a wide range of gelato, sandwiches, pastries, pasta and some main dishes.. Located in the new Forbes Town Center expansion, together with a host of other new concepts.
The place is a beauty with great attention to detail with most of the items imported from Italy. The ground floor draws you in with the beautiful fountain and the wide display of available gelato. More seating are available on the 2nd floor for bigger groups and those that want more privacy.
Casa Italia has big rectangular slices of pizza for people look for a quick and filling meal or a nice snack.
My favorite of all the things I tried at Casa Italia was the Pan Dolce (P80). An Italian pastry with generous amounts of strawberry jam and a big slab of French butter. Perfect complement to a cup of coffee for dining in or a quick take away snack.
The Meatballs in Pomodoro (P250) are simple but has great meat taste. Good with a slice of bread to sop up the sauce.
For pasta options, we were able to the try the Beef Lasagna (P250), Carbonara (P230) and Gamberetti (P280). Of the three, the one I enjoyed was the beef lasagna, the others were ordinary.
We were also able to try the Roast Chicken with Potatoes (P350) and the Fish Fillet with Siciliana Sauce (P350). The roast chicken was tasty but the best thing about the dish were the potatoes underneath, pack with all the flavors from the herbs and chicken. The fish fillet will make you yearn for some rice but they don’t serve that in Casa Italia to not detract from the Italian theme.
Check out their plentiful gelato (P130/piccolo) choices, you can have it in a cone of a cup like me. I got the Earl Grey gelato and it was pretty good but not Bono levels though.
Gelato not to your liking then maybe a cup of Flat White (P115/small, P125/medium, P140/large)would be more to your taste. Casa Italia uses coffee Otto, a signature blend of Arabica beans, roasted the Venetian way. The beans are used within 8 weeks of roasting to preserve optimum freshness.
Casa Italia is a nice addition to the BGC restaurant and cafe circle, great ambiance with a nice mix of snacks and meals. I’ve already seen a boardup for their next branch in SM North The Block.
