Dencio’s Bar and Grill at Capitol Greenstreet is one of only two stores owned by the founder of Dencio’s, the other being a branch in Baguio. Capitol Greenstreet is a multi-use structure that used to be the Capitol Hills Golf Club. It is located a t the top most floor and gives one a wonderful view to go with your chow.
Dencio’s Bar and Grill, which opened way back in 1991, is known for their classic bar food. These Crispy chicken skin (P129) goes down very well paired with some ice cold beer. Crunchy and oh so evil, you can lessen some of the oil with a quick vinegar dunk.
Crunchy Kwek Kwek (P139). A classic street food of battered quail eggs, given a crispy reinvention. Gone is the batter with crispy noodle strips giving it more textural crunch.
Crispy Sisig (P209/regular), the dish that made Dencio’s Bar and Grill one of the go to places way back in the 90s. Pork bits, red onions with a squeeze of calamansi, crackling on a hot plate. The sound just begs you to eat this with rice. I first tasted this before in college and it still tastes exactly the same.
The Chicken Isaw Sisig (P169) looks very different, this one is creamy because of the mayo. I don’t eat isaw so I skipped this one.
Have a bit too much meat in your system? An order of Asparagus with Oyster Sauce (P175) should help restore the balance, it also has loads of toasted garlic.
The Iced Tea Shake (P69), cold and frothy and a perfect match to all those meaty dishes. A good alternative if you don’t drink alcohol.
Remember the view I talked about earlier, here it is, lovely isn’t it. Eating and drinking is so much better with a view like this. I heard this is also a great place to view fireworks during New Year’s Eve.
Dencio’s has a couple of bilao sets, for those groups that just can’t decide what they want. The first is the Krispy Pata Bilao (P1,690) comes with the aforementioned crispy pata, chicken satay, grilled bangus, crispy chicken barbecue, steamed vegetables and bagoong. There’s also a heap of sinigang rice in the middle. Perfect for sharing with friends and families.
The other bilao we tried was the Barbecue Bilao (P1,330) filled with a host of grilled and fried favorites like pork barbecue, chicken kebab, fried daing na bangus, vegetables with bagoong, and Inasal Rice. I liked the inasal rice a lot more than the sinigang rice, its way more flavorful because of the chicken oil.
The Buko Pandan (P90) is a nice and refreshing cold treat to finish off your meal.
Check out Denio’s Bar and Grill at Capitol Greenstreet for reasonably priced food and drinks with a killer view.
