Whenever I travel, I make it appoint to experience and immerse myself in the culture of my destination. What better way to do that but through food and when in Cebu it is sutukil. Sutukil is a conventional style of cooking made up of sugba or grill, tuwa or stew and kilaw which is ceviche. Isla Sugbu Seafood City is one of the places to best experience the best of Cebuano cuisine represented by SuTuKil.
Located at the spacious Grandcon convention center which also houses two other dining outlets, Grand Majestic Buffet Restaurant and Tsay Cheng Chinese Restaurant. The interiors are nicely designed with a wharf/resort feel to it. Tables are spaced really well with no chance of bumping other diners. Parking is also not a problem with their available lots and parking building outside.
Isla Sugbu Seafood City is known for their seafood and you go about ordering them via an immersive shopping experience. You go around their market like seafood display and choose what catches your fancy, in a clean and air conditioned environment.
There are plenty of fish choices from the live pearl fish, lapu lapu and others in the tanks, whole parrot fish or fillets.
Crustaceans abound with large tanks filled with tiger lobster, sea mantis, rock lobsters, crabs and live shrimps swimming around.
They even have Diwal or angel wing clams and horned shellfish, both are pretty uncommon to see in a restaurant.
Want something a bit meatier to go with all your healthy seafood then you’ll be happy to know they also have some pork barbeques and limepo.
Select your fruits and vegetables to complement your seafood and meats.
They even have a limited wine selection to pair with your selected seafood dishes.
After you’ve selected your seafood, you just hand it over to the cooking station with your preferred method and they’ll whip it up in a jiffy.
Watch through the spacious open kitchen as they prepare your selected dishes.
