We recently had a staycation at the Fairmont Makati in the heart of Ayala Center. Fairmont Makati is part of the property that also houses Raffles Hotel, located just across Landmark and Greenbelt 3. We’ve been to the property numerous times for meals at the always excellent Spectrum but this was our first time staying the night.
Check in is a breeze in their copper hued lobby with lots of natural light flowing in.
A quick trip on the elevator and we were soon in our room with a view of Glorietta. The room is spacious and had two double sized beds. The usual hotel room amenities are included like the safe, lcd tv, luggage rack as well as complementary tea and coffee.
Beds and pillows are very comfortable and plentiful with strategically placed night lights for late reading.
Lauren loved this nook which she staked her claim to. She laid out her gadgets and proceeded to do her thing and made use of the table for her mid meal snacking.
The washroom has separate lavatory and shower areas as well as a large sized bath tub that Lauren of course commandeered. There’s also a full line of chic toiletries if ever you forget something.
Kids and adults alike will enjoy the pool area with separate children’s pool area. The area is surrounded by a large number of trees and is surprisingly quiet even if it is adjacent to buy Makati Avenue. Lappers will appreciate the thoughtfulness of a separate area of the full. Best for me was the lounge chairs half submerged in the water, lie down and you might just forget everything.
The gym is located beside the pool area and houses a complete line of exercise equipment for those that want to burn some calories.
The Willow Stream Spa is also on the same floor and has a large serene space to relax and unwind.

Breakfast buffet is served at Spectrum, one of my faves in Manila. There lots of interesting stuff in the buffet but you can count on finding the most important breakfast item, bacon, aplenty. Whatever cuisine your taste buds prefer, you’ll be able to find a dish or two to satisfy the craving. The most surprising find in the buffet is fresh coconut, you can just order it from any staff and is included with the spread.
The twin properties also has other dining outlets like Cafe Macaron for pastries and sandwiches. The Fairmont Lounge for meeting and after hours drinks and dining.
On the Raffles side of the property, you can get drinks and food at the famed Long Bar or afternoon tea at the Writers Bar. Head over to the recently opened Mireio (pictured above) for Provencal inspired dining amidst a tantalizing view of the Makati skyline.
Fairmont Makati has great dining outlets, forget everything beds, and is conveniently located surround by the best shopping areas in Makati.
