Food Find: Goin Bananas with Binggrae and Pocky

July 15, 2011 by Richard

I love bananas and banana flavored stuff although those are quite rare.

We were shopping in 999 Mall beside 168 Shopping center when the Binggrae Banana Flavored Milk with its bright yellow packaging caught my eye. Its priced at P25 for a 200ml pack.

We went home and I forgot about it until I was rummaging for something in the ref when I caught sight of the  yellow packaging again. I quickly got it and drank the whole pack before I forget again. The milk tasted somewhat like banana essence had added to it, not bad at all but I liked the Binggrae’s Banana flavored Melona bar better.

The next banana product I found, this time in Pioneer Center Supermarket, was Pocky Choco Banana Biscuit Stick, its priced at P18 per pack.

I was quite surprised to see the chocolate flavor on the packaging, I must have been hypnotized by the bright yellow lettering as well as the cute banana-peeling monkey.

The stick itself was choco flavored while the banana flavor was from the dip coating the stick. The color is not that bright, more along the lines of the color mustard. Taste wise, I liked the banana flavor coating and would have appreciated them using the regular cookie stick like they do for the strawberry ones. The choco stick is a little bitter for my tastes.
