The Cafe at the Hyatt City of Dreams is showcasing produce from the USA by way of their “From The Land of The Free to The Pearl of the Orient” food festival. The food fest is ongoing until Sept. 20, 2015 only, available during lunch and dinner services. Guest Chefs Jay McCarthy of Beaver Creek and Vail Chophouse and Chef Pete Geoghegan of Cargill prepare American culinary dishes and shows their deft skill in preparing meats.
US Ambassador Philip Goldberg and Chef Jay McCarthy were on hand to formally open the food festival.
Feel the vibe with lots of interesting touches like these cacti by the grill area.
You can start off with some Alaskan King Crab legs and Beef Carpaccio in the appetizer area or partake of a selection of US dried fruits and nuts.
Whatever part of the buffet spread you start with, I guarantee you’ll be drawn by the aroma of the meats at the grill station. The highlight is the man sized Tomahawk Rib Roast with succulent and tender, beefy meat. Chef Jay uses a special corn fed Angus cut from Nebraska.
Burgers, ribs and roasts aplenty, each one done to get as close in flavor to ones you can get in the USA.
My favorite would be the 12 hour roasted beef brisket with a dash of their from scratch barbecue sauce.
Save room for dessert with a selection of familiar cakes like Cherry Tart, Apple Pie, Key Lime Pie, Smores and even Burger Macarons.
