Amici recently opened their flagship store at the 3rd floor of One Bonifacio High Street Mall and introduced a limited time menu called “A Taste of Italy“.
Truffle Mushroom Dip (P385), 4 different mushrooms (porcini, truffle, shiitake, button) and onions mixed in creamy sauce, served with baked pizza dough. I’ve never been a fan of truffle but this one had me at first bite, it was just so good, earthy and creamy paired with crisp dough.
Chef’s Chicken Caesar Salad (P295/regular, P560/grande), chicken with mixed greens tossed in house Caesar dressing with croutons and Parmesan crisps. This was good but it had the misfortune of being served after the mushroom dip. Dressing had a strong anchovy taste that I enjoyed and you’ll finishing off the Parmesan crisps before you are even done with the rest of the salad.
Shrimp Pesto and Pomodoro (P365/regular, P700/grande), linguine with shrimp, garlic cooked in pomodoro sauce mixed with pesto. I really enjoyed the mix of the tangy pomodoro sauce and the nutty pesto, balancing each other out.
Striploin Steak Salpicao (P625). Striploin steak cut into strips and cooked with garlic, mushroom and salpicao sauce, served with a side of rice pilaf. There’s a slight tang to the sauce that makes it different yet still very enjoyable. The striploin were tender and had good beefy flavors.
Salmon and Zucchini Pizza (P525), alfredo sauce base with smoked salmon flakes, zucchini, mozzarella and bacon. It sounded like a weird combination but the smoky and salty bacon tied everything together. The creamy alfredo sauce based matched pretty well with the salmon while the zucchini provided a refreshing crunch.
Mango Magnifico, light chiffon with mango in whipped cream and cashew brittle. Light and not sweet but I wasn’t a fan of the cashew brittle. Caramia’s amazing Mango Cream Pie is till tops for me, I could eat half all by myself.
