KitchenWorks is anew multi-brand kitchen cookware shop that opened in Shangri-la Plaza’s East Wing. They seek to address the dearth of high end kitchen products that not only look good but has top notch performance. They carry a total of 9 hand picked brands from all over the world. I don’t cook but I love shopping for stuff my wife will use in the kitchen.
The first brand is De Buyer, a brand that was founded in France in 1830 and produces about 3,000 products, only a fraction is carried at Kitchenworks. De Buyer supplies all the kitchen needs of Makati Shangri-la and Solaire Resort and Casino in the Philippines
I also saw this Grill pan(P6k+), that will even work with induction cookers. My wife, uses hers almost everyday, ever since I bought one. This one looks like its even better, since it has the not stick yet non chemical Mineral B element.
Next brand up is Kuhn Rikon, the only brand I was familiar with inside Kitchenworks. The company was founded in Rikon, Switzerland and features bright colored cookware and accessories, which will surely make your kitchen a happy place.
Mori’s use of colors and smart design also caught my eye.
In the knives department, they carry Shun knives, crafted by skilled artisans in Japan.
During the media launch, Chef Jerome Langiller, 2009 champion at the World Cup of Pastry, held a little on the spot demo using De Buyer silicone cookware. He made a classic French cake called friand, I’d describe this as a crusty cake shaped madeleine.
