Kumori Japanese Bakery

June 17, 2015 by Richard

Kumori Japanese Bakery Makati 01

There’s a new bakery quietly making waves called Kumori Japanese Bakery with 2 branches in Makati. The first branch that opened was at the supermarket level of Landmark, a 2nd one recently opened in SM Makati. I’ve visited the Landmark branch and bought a couple of different bread for our breakfast and enjoyed them.

Kumori recently sent over some more of their creations so I happily indulged.

Kumori Japanese Bakery Makati Fuwa Fuwa Matcha Bun

Fuwa Fuwa Cream Bun and Soft Matcha Bun. Both of the buns are so uber soft that a picture can’t do it justice. The cream bun has an egg custard filling that’s smooth and lightly sweetened and finished off with a dusting of powdered sugar. The matcha bun substitutes it with a match cream instead, perfect for matcha lovers to go gaga over.

Kumori Japanese Bakery Makati Half Baked Cheesecakes

Harajuku Cheese (original/chocolate). Kumori’s signature product that even has it’s own packaging. I was taking these for granted because I was not a big fan of Japanese cheesecakes. Best eaten cold, these light yet dense cheesecakes sit somewhere in the middle. Silky smooth but packed full of flavor, you’ll be inhaling these by the box.

Kumori Japanese Bakery Makati Salmon Bonito Bun

Salmon Bonito. This unique offering that looks like takoyaki to me is one of their savory offerings. 2 small buns on a stick covered with teriyaki sauce and bonito flakes. Bite into the soft bun and taste the minced salmon filling.

I can’t wait to try more of Kumori Japanese Bakery‘s creations, hopefully in a branch closer to me.
