Le Petit Cheri, Parisian Charm in Alabang

May 21, 2013 by Richard

During our staycation last November at Acacia Hotel we had an early lunch at Le Petit Cheri, located in the Molito Lifestyle Complex. I picked the place because I liked the name and the decor from the outside, plus I enjoy French food alot. The quaint French restaurant is anything but petit inside, as we would later find out.

We felt it was too bright in the 1st floor so we walked past the bread and pastries display to head to the mezzanine.

Troop past this large staircase, which at that time was all decked out for Christmas.

We were expecting a few chairs when we reached there but boy were we surprised. The mezzanine was so big it even had its own semi library and also another that could be partitioned off. Books and other reading materials carefully arranged were on the shelves. A nice big plus for those looking to kill time without bringing their own reading paraphernalia.

After a few minutes of perusing the menu, I could not help but start with a Shrimp Bisque (P160). Strong and pungent shrimp puree topped off with cream, parsley and chopped shrimp. Loved the soup and its strong briny flavors.

We ordered a Poulet Roti (P472) for Lauren, a simple herb roasted chicken for her picky taste buds. Served with mashed potatoes, veggies and a tangy honey mustard sauce.

Irene settled on the lesser known Roti de Porc aux Herbes (P472). From the description, we were expecting it to be served like a steak but instead it was served in a hot plate. Thick slices of porkloin with tomato like sauce with a healthy dose of spices. We were both surprised at how we loved the perfect mix of their spices for the meat.

I picked the traditional French dish, Coq au Vin (P268).  I partnered it with the white rice to mop up all those red wine infused sauce. The chicken pieces were tender but it was the mushroom the I enjoy.

Food was pretty good but it was the place and its nice library charm that makes it a perfect place for a meal, relaxing snack or even just hanging around. Le Petit Cheri even thoughtfully stocks their shelves with books of all genres. So be sure to give them a look see when you visit Alabang.
