My daughter and I love LEGO, too bad we don’t have enough space to display them so when we got a chance to eat at Spectrum’s Awesome Sunday Brunch last week. A giant sized all LEGO Emmet from the Lego Movie will greet you at the door together with a LEGO replica of Fairmont and Raffles hotel Makati which took them 20 days to make.
The decor in front of the pastry area is also a treasure trove of picture worthy displays as you can see above.
The LEGO Awesome Sunday Brunch is priced at P2,777 nett for adults, kids ages 6-12 get 50% off. The brunch buffet will run on all Sundays until March 31, 2015 only.
I’ve been to Spectrum a couple of times before and I’ve always enjoyed their sushi and sashimi sections immensely. They’ve got a wide range of maki rolls which features uncommon ingredients.
They also have the best salmon sashimi in any hotel buffet I’ve eaten at. You can see it encompassing half my plate and I even got more.

I also indulged in the cold seafood area with clams, oysters, mussels, elephant clams and even rock lobsters, paired with a dash of citrus and cocktail sauce.
If you feel like getting a bit of alcohol then you can add P1,000 for unlimited servings of champagne and cocktails. The champagne flutes even come with a orange thing on top that hides a surprise bruschetta inside.
Next plate was some cold cuts with the parma ham being sliced upon request. Irene loved the chicken liver pate while I enjoyed the goat cream cheese roll.
I had a little paella and some lechon/roast pig then proceeded to repeat the cold cuts, sushi and sashimi before heading to dessert.
I think they should have called it a lunch since it began at 12 and the only reminders of breakfast was the omelette and made to order waffles. Bacon was nowhere in sight.
The only thing I saw that was LEGO themed in the savory sections was this row of multicolored corn dogs.
Kids even get their own section with some mac and cheese, spaghetti and a variety of desserts for the small eater.
I had some hakaw/har gao and steamed spareribs and was really surprised how good they were considering the absence of any Chinese dining outlet in the hotel.
It is the dessert station where you get a large dose of LEGO awesomeness.
Spot the hidden LEGO chocolate figure hidden on top of the Manchego cheesecake.
Chocolate, cakes and cookies galore in LEGO designs or with LEGO chocolate figures added.
My LEGO surfer dude (complete with abs) even wants to get in on the dessert action.
After the kids get their fill of the food and desserts, they can head over to the LEGO play area on the 2nd floor. There’s two play tables filled with LEGO bricks for different age groups. The LEGO Movie showing on the big screen and a special LEGO Chima prize awaits kids who join the “My Own Creation” contest. Lauren did not join because she does not like the Chima prize. A number of discounted LEGO sets are also on sale.
The LEGO Awesome Sunday Brunch is great fun and food for adults and children alike. LEGO fans should not miss this opportunity, I’m sure you’ll be getting your phones and gadgets out and snapping away.
