The Lego Awesome Sunday Brunch is back at Spectrum in Fairmont Hotel Makati. This time around the theme is Philippines, with a replica of the Rizal monument right smack at the entrance. The Sunday brunch will be available all Sundays until December 31, 2015.
The window into the dessert area is filled with iconic attraction of the Philippines all made from Lego. I wished I had the talent to make them, I love LEGO and so appreciate the ones with instructions.
Whatever the theme at Spectrum, my first is always the sushi and sashimi station. My love for their salmon sashimi knows no bounds, it’s my choice for the best quality in a buffet anywhere in Manila. Their sushi rolls are also very inventive and well made, each one colorful and delicious tickling your taste buds fancy. Impressive to create a spread with no Japanese dining outlet in the hotel.
Look at these burgers and corn dogs taking the relaxing bit to the extreme, lounging around on Adirondack chairs.
It’s not all kids stuff at the buffet stations,
The best part of all is dessert and Spectrum always goes all out with great creations by their ingenious pastry team. The Filipino theme is very prevalent with lots of local rice based desserts as well as ice cream house in the hotel’s own personalized ice cream cart. Don’t you think it would be even cooler if they pushed that around.
Cupcakes with the Philippine flag and Heneral Luna cake pops.
A feast for the eyes were the desserts made to look like a volcano (Chili Chocolate Cake) and a dessert with brown mounds like the Chocolate Hills of Bohol.
A play area for smaller kids filled with LEGO is available on the 2nd floor. Lauren is older already so no more interest in that area.
The LEGO Awesome Sunday brunch is still loads of fun in it’s 2nd run at Spectrum. A great bonding opportunity between parents and their children sharing the love for all things LEGO.
