Light and Right Donburi Bowls at Tokyo Tokyo

January 19, 2016 by Richard

Tokyo Tokyo Donburi Fest

Christmas time just passed and after all the merry making, many of us are left with light wallets. January is usually the time to tighten our belts and save by having less expensive meals. Tokyo Tokyo is expanding their doburi line with 2 new offerings that will have you running to their nearest store.

They just introduced the Tofu Steak Doburi and the Cheesy Pork Katsu Donburi at an unbelievable price of P99. Yes, you even get a peso change for your one hundred pesos. Each bowl has generous amounts of rice and delicious toppings.

Tokyo Tokyo Tofu Steak Donburi

I can’t say enough good thing about the Tofu Steak Donburi. Tempura batter coated tofu cubes slathered in a sweet and savory pork and mushroom sauce then topped with tempura crumble for extra crunch. They really pack the bowl with lots of rice, around 1 and 1half cups so even if it’s not unli rice, you are guaranteed to get full. If you are looking to eat healthier after the festive smorgasbord then this is your light and right choice.

The other new bowl is the Cheesy Pork Katsu Donburi. Pork katsu topped with a creamy white sauce, shredded cheese, and nori wasabi sprinkle. The pork pieces are well coated in the sauce and the generous amounts of cheese while the sprinkle gives it a nice umami kick.  This is the perfect choice for kids and the cheese lovers.

You can’t go wrong with either of the new P99 donburi bowls at Tokyo Tokyo.
