After trying out Magnum Manila and the do it yourself magnum bar, we were feeling a little hungry at around 8:30pm. We first headed to Ramen Nagi but there was a long waiting list, same as Todd English Food Hall. Teddy then suggested we try a small resto his friend was recommending called Love Shack. I remember seeing Love Shack while checking out the other restaurants in SM Aura Premier.
Located at the far end, sandwiched between a Banco De Oro and the entrance to SM Department Store. Curious about the name, we asked and found out that it was named for the B-52’s hit song of the same name.
The place is inviting with well laid out seating, and warm, pleasing colors. There are also plenty of interesting little decor touches on the walls. We quickly got a table, and hurriedly scanned the menu for what to order since we were all kinda hungry at this point.
There were quite a number of items on the menu that caught my eye but I had to settle on only one, which turned out to be Porchetta Rice & Beans (P388). Four big pieces of tender and meaty roast pork with a sliver of crunchy skin. You can see from the picture that they’ve rendered away a lot of the fat, which was perfect for me. Served with a side salad to balance things out and a small cup of beans. This was a good order but not anything surprising.
Irene got the Chorizo and Cheese Hash Brown with Egg (P355) which became the envy of everyone. Irene requested for rice to replace the hash brown and the resultant plate is even better. The way we ate this is just to break the fried egg and mix everything together so the cheese will coat everything. The chorizo adds a nice savory break from the gooey cheese sauce that’s heightened by the egg yolk. This one is really good and I was actually sneaking in a spoonful here and there while Irene was preoccupied.
Here are what our companions that evening ordered.
Love Shack Burger Creation 2 (P260). Love Shack infuses shiitake mushrooms, garlic and other seasonings to get more umami flavor. The also use special sweet potato buns. Our companions were quite happy with their burgers.
Chicken Steak (P390) topped with mushrooms, truffle oil caramelized onions and smothered in gravy.
We had a number of complimentary desserts that started with Mango Torte (P180). The look and taste of this one reminded me of Dulcelin’s version.
The other two desserts we tried were the Toasted Marshmallows with Soft ice cream (P150) and the Triple C (P180). The Triple C has a cheesecake bottom and a chocolate top and the whole thing is drizzled with caramel sauce. It might have sounded like a sugar rush but it was actually not that sweet.
Be sure to give Love Shack a try when you visit SM Aura, I’ve been guilty of giving it a cursory glance because of the name but did not really venture inside.

Went there before. Kasuluk-sulukan nga haha. The rice looks like the hershey chocolate kisses. Ain’t no mountain high enough! :)
not a nice location plus a quirky name. Good thing we were all hungry, that’s why we gave it a try.
I’m still wondering how they shaped that cup of rice.
