Mireio has out done themselves with their new Luxe Sunday Brunch spread. This new offering is specially prepared by new Executive Chef Anne-Cecile Degenne and Provençal-native, Chef de Cuisine Hervé Clair. It is not the biggest buffet spread around but each station screams quality all the way from the appetizers to the desserts.
- Pea Tartine
- Salmon Tartine
- Bayonne Ham Tartine
I did a walk around the whole spread and honestly did not know where to start but I finally settled on a pair of tartines. There are 3 available options, I skipped the pea and got one each of salmon and bayonne ham. Each tartine is assembled upon request so they will just deliver it over to your table.
I got some extra pieces of smoked salmon because one can never have enough.
If you love bread, cheese and charcuterie, you’ll be like a kid in a candy store with the curated premium choices.
You’ll be spoiled for choice if you love seafood. A plethora of clams (elephant, Manila, nylon), prawns, crabs (curacha, flower) and some of the biggest slipper lobsters I’ve seen. You have them cold with a spritz of lemon or having it cooked.
We had the elephant clams cooked in garlic butter (highly recommended) while the gigantic slipper lobsters were cooked two ways, garlic butter and baked with cheese. The lobster baked with cheese was good but it couldn’t hold a candle to decadent garlic butter, simple but exquisite.
If you want to add drinks, both non alcoholic and alcoholic, to your brunch, just add P895 or P1,288 if you desire champagne. We highly recommend the Fro’ze, which we dubbed the adult slurpee, it’s sweet and ice cold, perfect for the summer.
The salad station has some interesting finds like the creamy burrata and this seafood and egg custard creatively presently inside an egg shell surrounded by straws.
There’s more seafood around the corner at the Seafood Tartare station, with tuna, salmon and scallop that they’ll assemble upon order. We had a couple orders of these fresh and tasty bowls.
Time to warm up your stomach for the main courses with a hot bowl of bouillabaisse. Crisp prawns, mussels and fish in a rich broth and finished off with a cheese crostini.
Head on over to the carving station to satiate your carnivorous appetites. The selection included crunchy porchetta, roasted leg of lamb, rump and ribeye steaks plus a wide array of sauces and sides.
Here’s my plate with a little of each including sides of mashed potato, corn and French beans. I added Bearnaise sauce for the steak and red wine gravy for the lamb.
Be sure to save some room in your tummy for the Truffle Porcini Risotto finished off in the aged Parmesan else you will regret it.
You can choose from a wide array of bite size desserts ranging from pastries like macarons and eclairs to chocolates. The small size is perfect so you can try as many different ones as your tummy can hold. I loved the fruit tarts but I was pleasantly surprised how good the lime white chocolate was.
Luxe Sunday Brunch at Mireio is priced at P2450++ and is served from 12 pm to 3pm every week. Add P895 for unlimited sodas, juices, local beers, red and white wine, and selected cocktails. Want a little bubbly with your relaxing luxe brunch, an additional P1,288 gets you limitless Taittinger Champagne.
