Makansutra Gluttons Bay

July 19, 2010 by Richard

On our recent trip to Singapore, my cousin took us to Makansutra at Glutton Bay, which is beside the Esplanade. We’ve been meaning to go here during our past trips but something always happens that derails it. So we were happy to be dining there that night, it’s actually closed during lunch time as we found out for ourselves on one of our aborted forays here.
I went and ordered my usual Singaporean food favorites; Oyster cake, fried black carrot cake, fried baby squid and Huat Huat Chicken Wings. I liked them all but fried baby squid at No Signboard’s version is still t was still the best I had tasted in Singapore. The Sambal Stingray was too spicy for my tastes but for the little that I tried, there was nothing special about it, kinda of a novelty.

We were really glad my cousin ordered Roti prata for us to try, we loved the chewy thin bread so much we’re even looking for it here.

I think we went  a little overboard ordering, imagine all these for 3 adults and 1 child. My cousin went home with lots of leftovers.

Overall we were really happy with the place, it was a little hot that night even with large fans all over the place. The food is light years ahead of Makansutra at the Manila Ocean Park.
