Manila’s Signature Dishes 2010 : Quattro Grill

December 18, 2010 by Richard

Quattro Grill, open for more than 10 years, continues to expand and delight its patrons with its unpretentious setting and good affordable food. Owner Ma-an de Ocampo has been cooking since she was a child and has been at the helm of Quattro Grill since 1999. Their Manila Signature Dishes 2010 set is composed of old and new favorites sure to delight its loyal customers.

Quattro Frito.A unique take on a Filipino classic dish of Laing. Here at Quattro, they’ve stuffed the laing into a  samosa. A crunchy exterior belies a creamy coconut milk interior filled with taro leaves. The dish was very unique and tasty, no wonder its been on their menu from the beginning.

Spicy Terriyaki Chicken. A crowd favorite dish among young and old but given a little zing at Quattro. I like the mix of sweet and spicy in the chicken, it goes real well with the Japanese fried rice served with the dish.

Triple Pannacotta. Ma-an informed us that they had run out of the langka (jackfruit) variety that night and was only able to serve the buko (coconut) and ube (purple yam) flavors. I loved the ube pannacotta, it had a smooth flavor and not overpowering. The different toppings like red beans and pandan kaong were nice touches and served as color and taste contrast to the smooth pannacotta. I had really wanted to taste the langka one since I love the langka fruit.

Quattro Grill is a relaxing place to unwind after a hectic day at work. They also have live music playing starting at 9pm. So go and try them out.
