April 6, 2015 by Richard

Chef JP Anglo (Sarsa Kitchen) and Russell Hobbs, the UK’s leading small appliance brand, have teamed up to launch a new coffee table book called Mood Food. The book will contain recipes that can easily be created using Russell Hobbs kitchen appliance.  Chef JP Anglo is Russell Hobbs Philippines‘ endorser and uses them both at home and in his restaurants.

The Mood Food book takes inspiration from our food cravings that arise from the different moods we experience

Chef JP deftly demoed 4 recipes only using different Russell Hobbs home appliances.

Purifry
Taro Chips with Choco dip

Chef JP uses the Purifry, a appliance that uses air to cook, to demo the Taro chips with cheese dip. Just a thin layer of oil is needed to cook the chips like you would in a deep fryer with a whole lot less oil.

Panini Grill
Longganisa Panini

I used to think a Panini maker can only make sandwiches but Chef JP debunks that notion making a Longganissa Panini. He cooked the skinless longganisa on the non stick Russell Hobbs panini grill, wipes it off then sears the sandwiches on it again. Chef JP even cooks steaks at home with it because it’s compact and easy to clean.

Illumina Hand Blender
Grilled Bread with Roasted Pepper and 3 Cheese Dip

For the Grilled Bread Triangles with Roasted Pepper and 3 Cheese Dip, Chef JP roasted the bell peppers on the panini grill ahead of time. He then mixes them and other ingredients using the Illumina hand blender.

The last recipe he demoed was the Strawberry Yougurt Smoothie he prepared using the Russell Hobbs Illumina Blender. The blender was sleek looking, powerful yet fairly quiet. The most interesting I noticed was it had suction feet on the base to keep the blender steady as you mix the drinks.

Russell Hobbs kitchen equipments are available at leading appliance and department stores.  For more about Russell Hobbs, check out their Facebook Page.
