Mooncake Festival at Red Jade in Manila Hotel

September 21, 2018 by Richard

Red Jade at the Manila Hotel has a special treat to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival or more commonly known as the Mooncake Festival. They have crafted a special Dine and Dice promo that includes a multi course lauriat with a complete mooncake dice game, available from September 21 to 30, 2018. The set is open to a minimum of 10 persons in a table with an option for two different 10 course set menus, Set A priced at P2,888 nett per person and Set B priced at P3,888 nett per person.

We were able to try Set B which started with a plate of Suckling Pig combination then followed by Imperial Seafood soup and Stir Fried Australian Scallops.

Soya Pigeon. A unique execution as most Chinese restaurants will serve them fried. It’s a bit healthier sans the oil but equally flavorful.

Simmered Pork Spareribs with Chinese Bun. This one is not a pretty dish but it delivers in taste, you’ll be slicing open the bun to fill up with the saucy pork ribs one after another.

Steamed Lapu Lapu in Soya Sauce. Live lapu lapu done in the classic way. There’s also a Braised Sea Cucumber with Local Abalone in brown sauce dish that preceded this one.

Deep Fried Sea Mantis in Salt and Pepper. This dish was delicious, large size sea mantis, perfectly fried and seasoned. They are somewhere between shrimps and lobsters but the meat is closer to lobster yet it’s softer.

Coconut Milk with Peach Tree Resin. This warm dessert was unusual because it was the first time I’ve ever tried peach tree resin, which is known to be a great source of collagen. The resin was a pretty sight but it terms of taste, it was neutral but it injected lots of texture to the dessert.

The last dessert are assorted mooncakes made by Red Jade before the games begin.

Red Jade will provide all elements of the dice game from the playing materials and prizes and will also assign a gamemaster to officiate. The prizes range from token soaps to dining GCs for the first and second prizes.

Book a Dine and Dice table now and enjoy a fuss free mooncake festival plus a fun dice game too. No need to go out of your way to plan, buy and bring all the prizes, your group just need to show up at Red Jade.

Their special mooncakes are available in four flavors and are sold at the lobby and Red Jade ranging from P288 to P1,288.
