Paradise Dynasty recently introduced 4 new dishes to complement their wide range of good dishes. The dishes are exclusively available at their Podium branch only. We got to sample all 4 as well as their usual standouts like the xiao long bao sampler and the always wonderful lettuce roll.
Deep Fried Duck with Steamed Bun (P1288/half). This is a diy dish that is immediately one of the best dishes on the Paradise Dynasty menu. A marinated then deep fried half duck that is shredded table side. The duck meat is tasty with lots of different layers of flavor.
You get a piece of soft bun, add the shredded duck, add julienned cucumber, chives and basil then finish off with a drizzle of hoisin sauce then bite and enjoy.
Shanghai Style Braised Pork Belly (P588). Similar to the dong po pork but with a different presentation. Pork belly cubes with a sticky sweet and savory sauce that goes perfectly with steaming white rice, bowls of it. The pork is tender enough but still has a nice bite on it with the sauce permeating the meat thoroughly.
Grilled Grouper with Tofu in Mapo Tofu Style (P1288). The fish has a nice smokiness because of the grilling while the tofu and sauce gives it a strong spicy flavor. It’s a bit too spicy for me but the flavors are still evident.
Grouper with Pine Nuts and Fruits (P1288). This is their version of sweet and sour fish but using predominantly fruits with some pine nuts for nutty crunch. I felt the sauce was too sour and compared to the mapo tofu one, this paled in comparison.
