Pizza Express Debuts New Menu

October 30, 2019 by Richard

Our family loves Pizza Express ever since we first tried it about 2 decades before during their first foray in the Philippines. The British franchise was ahead of it’s time and didn’t last long but thankfully they’ve reopened last year and now have branches in Uptown BGC, SM North EDSA and SM Megamall.

Pizza Express recently introduced a slew of new menu items (14 total), including 2 of the international favorites pizzas from their limited time promotion. We got to try a select few from appetizers to pizza.

Baci Verde (P220). If you love Pizza Express dough balls like we do then you’ll definitely love the 2 new variants. The Baci verde is dough balls stuffed with basil pesto and ricotta cheese and served with Pesto Rosso on the side. Soft with creamy and nutty center that you can’t stop popping into your mouth.

Avocado Tomato Dip (P280). Avocados, Cherry tomatoes, red onions, lemon, juicy, and parsley served with flat bread. This refreshing appetizers tasted like a cross between guacamole and salsa and goes really well with the flat bread.

Baked Chicken Wings (P450). Chicken wings oven baked and served with their version of bbq sauce. The dish doesn’t really look exciting but the flavors are good, even better with a dip in their bbq sauce for an added smoky sweet and tangy dimension.

Risotto al Funghi (P470). Portobello mushrooms, chicken stock, red onion, garlic oil, white wine, thyme, Parmesan and truffle paste make up this well executed risotto. Cooked al dente with a light bite and not mushy as many sub par places do, generous amounts of cheese and lots of earthy  flavors.

Alba Pizza (P650). This easy to enjoy pizza has salami Napoli, mascarpone, fennel seed, Parmesan and parsley. Meaty, cheesy on a crisp crust, with no weird flavors that kids and adult will equally enjoy. I’ll have to let Lauren try this one and see if it can beat her fave Le Rose. *Pro tip – you can request to have their classic pizzas, served Romana style.*

Looking thru the new items on the menu, I have lots of things I still want to try on our next visits. Have you tried Pizza Express already, if not, this is the perfect time to do so and check out their old and new favorites.
