The Cafe at Hyatt City of Dreams welcomes October with “Prost, A German Fare” that will be held during dinner time from October 8 – 11, 2015. The Cafe’s high ceilings will be decorated with Bavarian blue and white banners and a stage for the German oompah band. Prost will be priced at P2,388 net and will included free flowing beer in addition to the buffet spread as well as a seat in the special tent area.
Entertainment at Hyatt COD’s Prost will be handled by German oompah band Die Dorf Fest Kapelle.
Hyatt COD’s in house German Executive Chef Michael Luedtke and Executive Sous Chef Heiko Reichel take Oktoberfest seriously and have prepared a hearty German spread.
Here’s some of the dishes I got to sample that will be included in Prost.
German potato salad and home made sauerkruat.
Weisswurst, a classic Bavarian pork and veal sausage. This was my first time to come across this sausage variant that is boiled and served in a pot with water. The traditional way to eat this is to break the skin and eat only the sausage inside. I really enjoyed the herb flavors of this sausage, pretty unique. You must dip it in the sweet Bavarian mustard or you’ll regret it.
The bast pairing for the weisswurst is a bottle of Weihenstephaner weissbeier and pretzels. I even got a chance to roll my very own pretzel in the Hyatt kitchens. Those pretzels are addicting good and great with the beer.
Weihenstephaner, San Miguel, Stella, Estrella, Brew Dog and Corona will be free flowing so you’ll be doing prost after prost in no time.
Weiner Schnitzels and Pork knuckles a plenty. This was a pork knuckle that Irene and I really enjoyed thoroughly. It was flavorful all throughout, from skin to meat and even got Irene eating the skin, something she hardly does.
Seats for Prost, A German Fare are already fully booked for Oct. 9 and 11 so better hurry and make your reservations on Oct. 8 and 10.
If you miss out on the Oktoberfest celebration at Hyatt COD then you can join the one hosted by City of Dreams in one of their ballrooms. The COD Oktoberfest celebration will be held on October 17, 2015 and is priced at P5,000/ person. It’s main draw is the 43 kinds of free flowing beers from 14 different countries. The food is a smorgasbord of German favorites highlighted by suckling pig prepared 6 ways. There will also be entertainment and raffle prizes.
