Sabores de Mexico is a celebration of Mexican cuisine at Crimson Hotel’s Cafe Eight in cooperation with the Mexican Embassy. This food festival is being presented to commemorate the Mexican National Day which falls on September 16. The food festival at Cafe Eight will run from September 17 to 26, 2014 only and is available during lunch and dinner service.
The Mexican Ambassador Julio Camarena Villaseñor and his lovely wife Madame Ana Maria Romandetto with Dr. Jaime Augusto Villalobos of the National Chamber for the Tequila Industry opened the ceremonies with lots of fanfare and tequila.
A pop up margarita station from A’Toda Madre was set up for the guests to fully enjoy the night.
The Mexican Embassy flew in Grammy Award winning artist, Flor Yvon Quezada together with the Grupo Achai Mariachi band to perform during the Sabores de Mexico media launch last Sept. 17. It was my first time to see a Mariachi band live and what an experience especially with the great performance of Flor Yvon Quezada.
On to the buffet spread specially prepared by Mexican Chef Daniella Romero filled with classic dishes.
Start with appetizers like Baked Zuchhini with cheese and Stuffed Jalapeno Peppers (super spicy).
Chicken with Achiote.
Salpichon. This would be perfect in a taco or burrito.
Finish off the meal with some Tres Leches cakes, Churros with Chocolate Sauce and Lemon Flan.
Sabores de Mexico at Cafe Eight is priced at P1,000++ for lunch and P1,250++ for dinner.

Thank you, Richard! Wonderful photos!
I enjoy reading your food blog. I showed the above blog to my Mexican-American co workers and they were happy to see Filipinos enjoying Mexican cuisine. I have also introduce them to our own dishes and desserts and they like it as well. Thanks for a great Blog!
Wow, thanks for sharing the blog to your friends and co workers.
