San Marino Spanish Sardines 04

Spanish food is very popular in the Philippines because of the close ties between our two countries. Irene and I love Spanish food with tapas, paella and chorizo at the top of our list. We were quite intrigued with these bottles of San Marino Premium Spanish Sardines that were given to me by a good friend because they were preservative free.

Pop open the 240 gram bottle and you’ll see it filled to the brim with freshly caught herring pieces, corn oil, carrots, peppers and pickled cucumber.

San Marino Spanish Sardines with Rice

Each piece of herring is carefully selected to keep maintain the firmness and you can see it in the intact scales. Look at each of those beautiful pieces sitting on top of steamed rice, tell me you can resist that. There’s a slight spicy flavor to go with the creamy umami flavors that will have you eating more rice than you intend to, good things it’s packed with protein and energy. The pickled cucumber and carrots temper the richness and provides balance to the sardines.

I eat it simply with rice but you can use it in making pasta dishes in lieu of tuna or other recipes, even with bread as a breakfast partner.

San Marino Spanish Sardines Healthy

Each bottle contains loads of Omega 3 fatty acid that lowers blood cholesterol making it not only delicious but healthy at the same time.

Open the bottle and bring out the platters of rice and indulge yourself to a luxurious dining experience with San Marino Premium Spanish Sardines. The best-tasting Spanish Sardines in the market today is available for only P95 per bottle.
