Serenitea’s New Drinks

February 11, 2013 by Richard

The first milk tea place that Irene and I got addicted to was Serenitea, we even drove 15 minutes to their San Juan branch almost every other day just to get our fix. This time around we got to sample some of Serentitea’s new drinks that will be available by the last week of February 2013 in all of their branches.

The first drinks we tried were the Tropical Yakult and Lychee Yakult, both drinks were refreshing so it come down to preference. I love lychee so I’m more inclined towards the Lychee Yakult, the tropical Yakult was pretty good also with its more citrusy taste.

Next up was the Chaffe Milk Tea, a combination of coffee and milk. This is commonly called Yuen Yang in Hong Kong breakfast places.  This was a bit lacking in strength, I would have preferred an additional shot of coffee to give more robust flavor.

The next drink is something I probably would not order, Cocoa Green Tea Frost. It’s reminiscent of the happy milk tea place that made a name for itself thru their similar drinks. Serenitea’s mix of cocoa and matcha is magical, it just works even if I’m not a fan of both.

We had a bit of snacks to go with all the drinks we were trying out. Pepper Corn is one of out favorites together with the Chicken chop.

They are also introducing a new sinker, the chocolate pudding, here making an appearance partnered with Okinawa milk tea. This is one variant of milk tea that Irene adores but I’ve never acquired a taste for.

The last drink we sampled was the Cookies and Cream Milk Tea (sorry for the lousy photo). I love Oreos but have never acquired a liking for cookies and cream based desserts. This one changed my mind with the real crushed cookies, assam milk base and of course a scoop of ice cream.

My favorites of the night were both unusual choices for me, Cookies and Cream Milk Tea and Cocoa Green Tea Frost. Both drinks really surprised my taste buds that night, so if you are a fan of of green tea or cookies and cream then you should definitely enjoy both.

Serenitea will also open is 1st Cebu store in March so Cebuanos can also start enjoying these new drinks. The branch is located at the Ground Floor Calyx Building right across McDonalds drive-through, W. Geonzon Street corner J. Abad Santos, Cebu IT Park, Apas, Cebu City

So remember to visit Serenitea on the last week of February 2013 to start enjoying these drinks.
