My favorite drink at Starbucks is the Peppermint Mocha Frappucinno, that they have for a limited time only during the Christmas season. I’ve blogged about how much I loved Starbucks ice cream before, so I was ecstatic when I saw my favorite Starbucks blend available in ice cream form during a trip to S&R.

The packaging is almost the same except for the “Limited Edition” printed under the flavor and the green snowflakes all around.

Removing the lid, you can readily smell the mocha wafting up and see the bits of dark chocolate all around. I was actually looking for the peppermint swirls since it was all dark colored when I removed the cover.

Scooping it out and you will see the light colored swirls peppermint ice cream intertwined with the mocha ice cream. The mocha flavor dominates but there’s a light and pleasant peppermint after taste. The dark chocolate, more of bits and pieces than chunks, give a nice little bite for your mouth to play around with. This now tied with Mocha Frappuccino ice cream for my favorite flavors from Starbucks.

I’m eager to try out more flavors of Starbucks ice cream, and at around P280, it is really good value. That price is the one we paid for at S&R, I think I’ve seen it at Rustan’s Fresh supermarkets but they were priced higher.

Have you guys tried Starbucks ice cream? Which are your favorites?

Good thing you posted this, Chard…I’m not a big fan of Starbucks coffee, which explains why I’m not up-to-date with any of their offerings, and I didn’t know they had ice cream! Will be heading out to S and R for this. (And the clam chowder.)

I just wanted to let you know that Starbucks has peppermint, (and so, peppermint mocha frappuccinos!) year round! You just have to ask. :)
